And as she carried her holdall to her room, scents of Jasmin whispering on the light breeze, she kicked off her shoes and smiled. And so, her weekend began …
A hotel so lovely and magnificent, it didn’t take long to unpack and settle in. There is inspiration to be found around every corner, both indoors and out and after a long weekend spent relaxing in the pool house with my dear husband, it will be hard to find somewhere as glorious. And perhaps we won’t need to, as a weekend spoil here really is all one needs to feed your soul and make you smile.
There are a few places that have provoked such desire within me over the years, but none so unctuously inspiring, as my eye was drawn to infinite details wherever they happened upon. Lush fabrics and artworks, glorious gardens and scented jasmin, climbing roses, vessels replete with flowers, views of the Franschhoek pass for days and epicurean treats to keep you satiated and happy.
My memories of La Cotte will be remembered long after we packed our bags and headed home, with a head full of decor & garden inspiration, and a heart smiling with love and gratitude.
It is a special place, that will forever be ingrained within.
