La Bri

La Bri Estate’s Vineyard and Cellar Renaissance

Steeped in history, this is one of the oldest farms in the Franschhoek Valley dating back to the 17th century. The farm has come a long way since then and now boasts a new cellar that has a unique circular design and boasts a gravity-fed winemaking process. I am not entirely sure what this means, but I think it is safe to say, the grapes are treated with the utmost respect, with minimal intervention so the focus is on producing limited volumes of superior quality, elegant wines, that people want to drink and enjoy.

Discovered on a recent lunch outing to the Le Lude estate, the wines were so delicious I couldn't help but share the good news with you. The current vintages all have unique tasting notes and styles, the chardonnay was crisp and precise with hints of creamy lime and freshly baked biscuits. Whereas the Affinity, a Bordeaux style blend, was smoky spice, cherry tobacco with hints of cedar on the nose. A lunch where you forget the time because you are so focused on the wine.

Signature styled wines created with passion.
