Owned and run by Italian and South African chef couple Salvatore and Nina Branda, with Chris Mathew, Nina’s father, at front of house, La Sosta is a fine-dining restaurant that combines history with contemporary style. Situated at the foothills of the Langeberg Mountains in the beautiful, lush Overberg, La Sosta began it’s journey over a decade ago and continues to this day with true Italian flair.

The food is innovative and delicious and little out the ordinary. There are three menu's to choose from - Land, Sea and Plant - with every ingredient selected for seasonality, sustainability and quality. And although fine-dining, it's uncomplicated with the focus strongly on flavour.

The wine list celebrates wines from the area with some seriously smash-able bottles to quaff. You are also able to order by the glass and they allow corkage but with such a superlative choice, I would suggest putting your faith in Chris, who will pair your glass perfectly.

The family also run a guesthouse on the property, which makes dinner even more appealing as one is guaranteed sweet dreams of sugar and spice and all things nice. Waking up to a cacophony of bird song and views over the majestic mountain scape, you are also treated to a lovely country breakfast included in the rate. You will leave satiated and happy, having made new friends with epicurean memories that will be savoured.
